Training for the 3rd World

Did you ever wonder how and where we train our troops for the conditions in the Middle east? I can tell you that there is quite a bit of culture shock - not to mention climate shock and everything else when you get to a place like Baghdad.

The air smells different, the colors are different, the sounds are different, the language, food, beverages, etc... it is a bit disconcerting. So how do our troops do it? How do they prepare? Well, here in Hawaii there is training going on that acclimates you both to the temperatures and to the culture.

This link is for a Navy/Marine Corps News story about Marines from Kaneohe training for duty in Afghanistan.

Enjoy!
