A panel about the Cartoons related to the Muslims most important religious figure with only Jewish speakers!!! Very credible!!!
Sam, Truth does not care what religion someone is. If you disagree with what someone on this panel SAYS then you may have an argument, but to discredit someone becasue they are not Muslim is simply bigoted.
BTW, From what I understand they invited Muslims and none would accept the offer. You can email the group if you want to verify this. Oh, and guess what happened in New York... a Muslim student group threatened the NYU administrators with violence over a similar discussion of the cartoons.
They called the panelists "racist" for wishing to discuss the cartoons in public. HA! Very credible.
If we will discuss issues related to the US we should get US personalities to participate, or the so called discution will become propaganda. The same apply to issues important to Israel, Jews, Muslims, Chineese and so on...
You can not have people with the same opinion to have objective discussion.
I disagree Sam.
Using that logic we would have to include prisoners in the process of discussing how to run a prison... grammar school students should be included in how to run an educational system, etc...
If the participants stick to facts rather than arbitrary claims it does not matter where they come from or what their beliefs are. Unfortunately, in many forums these days the art of discussion for the purpose of revealing truth seems to have slipped to the back in favor of all parties loudly proclaiming their opinions.
"Using that logic we would have to include prisoners in the process of discussing how to run a prison... "
So you are planning to "run" Islam? :-)
That is not discution pannel, this is a one sided opinion. I am ok with one sided opinions, but they should not claim to be discution panel as they do agree on all points. You can not get discution between people who agree, all what you will get is head nods.
But as I said, the Muslims that were invited refused to attend.
Then as I said: It is not discussion any more.
Have you never had a discussion with someone who agreed with you??? This is silly.
And since the talk was open to anyone - regardless of their beliefs - and everyone was encouraged to ask questions, it surely was a discussion. I don't understand why you are opposed to them discussing the cartoons.
Are you for freedom of speech or against?
"Have you never had a discussion with someone who agreed with you??? This is silly."
Joe, I would love to have such discuttions all the time. Do you agree..., yes I agree, what about you?...., I agree too.
Try to focus Sam.
