Dying for Islam - whether you want to or not...
I think this story speaks for itself...
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/middle_east/1874471.stm
Thanks to Paul Saunders who wrote a letter to a radio talk show host, who read the letter on the air April 6. Saunders says the host and his guest added several other Islamic atrocities like the murdering of daughters who date non-Muslims.
Paul thanks Peter Schwartz for his remarks at NYU that inspired this letter:
"I think that the discussion about whether Islam is an evil,
anti-life religion should have ended on March 15, 2002. On that
date in Mecca, Saudi Arabia, the Islamic religious police, the
mutaween, physically prevented the rescue of fifteen young
schoolgirls from a building that was on fire. Why? Because the
schoolgirls were not wearing the clothing mandated by Islam --
headscarves and abayas, the long black robes that cover their
bodies.
The story is at:
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/middle_east/1874471.stm
This unforgivable, deliberate, mass murder of fifteen young
schoolgirls was NOT an aberration from the teachings of Islam, it
was, in fact, the religiously correct action dictated by the religion of
Islam. I can think of few acts that could more thoroughly condemn
a religion as evil and unworthy of existence in the modern world.
It would be the grossest injustice to the destroyed lives of those
fifteen schoolgirls, if members of the modern world granted even
the slightest respect to this barbaric, death-worshipping religion.
Islam is, at its core, a religion of war and murder with no respect
for human life."

This creed of Islam (the Wahabism) is the creed helped to come to power by the British and then supported by the US till this day. Just read the history of Saudi Arabia.
Islamic practices vary from town to town and from country to country, and many of the things which happen are customes which are intrenched in a specific society regardless of the religion. e.g. There are instances where Coptic Christians in Egypt will kill their systers for dating non Christian men. Woman circumcission in Sub Saharan Africa is common between both Christians and Muslims. Orthothox Jewish women will cover their heads and submitt to their husbands, and so on...
Yes, you are absolutely right. All of these irratinal cultures are a blight on humanity and need to be treated with contempt.
We should never make excuses for them by saying, "Well, what you are doing is terrible but some other group in another country is also doing something terrible so I won't bother you with my contempt."
No, we should condemn them as evil wherever we find them. Evil thrives in the darkness of secrecy and the light of reason will always destroy the evil.
"This unforgivable, deliberate, mass murder of fifteen young schoolgirls was NOT an aberration from the teachings of Islam, it was, in fact, the religiously correct action dictated by the religion of Islam."
No it wasn't. Even if the dress issue were correct, it is well known that in emergencies even the categorically forbidden can become permissible. Someone at risk of starvation, for example, would be permitted to eat pork if nothing else was available.
Dear neurocentric,
That's good news... since Saudi Arabia is an Islamic state then I guess these murderers have probably already been sentenced to death for murdering the girls with their anti-Islamic behavior.
I'll keep my eyes open for that follow-up story.
jk
What is rational in prohibiting gay marriage, disallowing abortions, or arresting a naked person walking down the street. Or till recently executing mentally chalenged people. All those are examples from the US, not Saudi Arabia.
In my post I did not try to justify the Saudi action, basically it was criminal, but those are your best friends. The west brought the Wahabi into power, kept them in power, and helped them promote their radical message all over the Islamic world in order to counter the Iranian shieesm and the Soviets influence. So thank you America for your great gift to humanity.
No they are not our best friends... they do serve a purpose though as we work to overturn all of the dictatorships in the mideast..
As for the laundry list of greivances you have against the US... if you look at the three examples you give.. you would be executed for any of those things in an Islamic country so, yeah, I'll stick with the US system where at least we are free to debate these things... and that is also why it is the more rational system.
"No they are not our best friends... they do serve a purpose though as we work to overturn all of the dictatorships in the mideast.."
Great logic. You support the worst dictatorships in order to get rid of dictators, hmmm. I guess you are going to do that the same way you did it in Latin America in the seventies, it was big success with people like Pinochet (Kisinger's best friend).
No Sam, you continue to confuse ME with the U.S. government. I would not side with a dictator, ever. Obviously some people think it is pragmatic to do so. If you are trying to hold me accountable for the decisions in D.C. then you are on the wrong track.
I do not think you can be held responcible for anything. All what I am trying to do is show you how the US politics of intervention in that region did not bring anything except dictators and misery to the people you are now accusing of being idiots.
As if they were not already in misery. Blame whomever you want, it does not change the nature of Islam -- which is what this post is all about if you read the heading.
Check this report on the BBC:
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/europe/4930518.stm
It talkes about: " A new report submitted to the Dutch government has sparked controversy by arguing that Islam does not conflict with either human rights or Dutch values."
Or maybe you think that those scientist do not know what a US soldger with high school education knows.
OK Sam, so you got a report by some scientists by committee on the one hand and Muslims killing Dutch citizens and rioting around the world for their religious beliefs... which one should believe?
Guess what... since I already know Islam is an irrational doctrine, much like every other religion, I think I'll take the word right from the horses mouth.
I guess this report is like telling the Dutch citizens not to worry about the murderers in headscarves... they are from the religion of peace. Right.
"Muslims killing Dutch citizens"
"I guess this report is like telling the Dutch citizens not to worry about the murderers in headscarves"
How many killings happened in Holland? and how many Muslims were involved?
The way you talk you make it sound like there is a Dutch citizen killed every day by mobs of Muslims roaming the streets to kill infidels. I know about one incident for the last few hundred years, do you know of any more or you are just trying to promote your opinion by twisting the facts?
What is your opinion of Christians, especially after a fanatic blew up the Oklahoma state building?
One killing was enough to see who was supporting and who was not... and one killing of an innocent simply for having a different opinion of Islam is one killing too many.
The Oklahoma bombing was not for religious reasons, but if you want to know my general opinion I think religion is a negative anti-life approach to life.
One Muslim Dutch killing one non-Muslim Dutch, is enough to label all Muslims as terrorists and to say say that all dDutchs are threatened by Islam. So is Abu Garibs torture is enough to label all Americans as terrorists? I do not think so, but that's how your "LOGIC" works. You are trying to promote hatered in any possible way, and I wounder what is your interest in that.
Not sure what you are talking about anymore Sam.
You have to ignore everything this blog is about to say what you are saying.
And your other comment was too disgusting to publish.
Please refrain from personal attacks if you wish to comment here.
"Not sure what you are talking about anymore Sam."
Is it so hard to understand that generalizations are not a correct way of judging entire groups?
"And your other comment was too disgusting to publish."
I am not sure what you are talking about here.
OK Sam, this is becoming very tiresome. You so far have made so comment with any kind of rational argument behind it. Your one theme seems to be that whatever the U.S. does is bad and the palestinians are victims of the "evil Jews." BUt in no case have you given any real evidence. You keep adding links to sites that are obvious propoganda, but do nothing to add to the conversation.
From now on if you cannot make a point using logic then I won't bother to post it.
Thanks, but adding your comments when all you do is blame everyone but the terrorists is just not worth my time.
Can you give me the defenition of Terrorist?
